Introduction
The abovementioned vacancy exists in the Risk division in Bluff Road, Durban. The successful incumbent will ensure compliance, monitoring and capturing of effective Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems to meet ISO and other requirements with the aim of ensuring a sustainable and safe workplace.
We require an incumbent with a relevant tertiary level SHEQ Qualification.
Minimum Requirements

    Three (3) to five (5) years experience of SHEQ or related exposure
    In-depth knowledge of OHSACT, ISO 14001, 18001 and ISO 22000 Systems and relevant legislation governing HSE rules and regulations.
    Must be capable of managing multiple sites.
    Experience in Sustainability Reporting and fulfillment of associated projects management.
    Fully computer literate.
    Administrative abilities.
    Ability to work under pressure.
    Ability to communicate at all levels.
    Ability to identify projects linked to sustainability of company.
    Clear ITC and criminal checks.

Job Specification
This position is responsible for:

    Overseeing the monitoring, ordering, controlling, issuing and usage of PPE stock to ensure the optimal utilization of required consumables that fits the risks associated with the job - nationally.
    Progressing with ISO 14001, 18001 and 22000 accreditation.
    Identifying key HSE initiatives to be implemented within GIM.
    Drafting and managing programs for HSE related risks upon conducting of risk assessments nationally.
    Providing guidance on the managing of IOD's via Workmen Compensation.
    Processing or updating of all SHEQ related procedures to ISO requirements and recommendations.
    Ensuring that the GIM's Health, Safety & Environment policy and procedures are observed as well as all relevant safety and the provisions of the relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation are complied with.
    Conducting regular safety and environmental audits nationally which shall incorporate detailed risk assessments.
