Objective:

The principal function/objective of an Analyst (O2) is to do secondary preparation of routine geological and metallurgical samples (i.e. alkaline fusions, acid digestions, acid leaches, filtration, etc.) and instrumental analysis of base metals, platinum group metals, etc. on various equipment such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AAS, LECO and XRF with high accuracy, precision and competency to achieve high quality results at acceptable turnaround times and thereby ensuring customer satisfaction.

Performance Areas:
The principal function/objective of an Analyst (O2) is to:

  • Performs corrections for calibration irregularities caused by peaks, regression lines and sample flow deviations to assist other analyst to continue with work.

  • Performs instrument optimization to the desired sensitivity when deviations occur
  • Performs basic instrument troubleshooting reliably to solve minor faults or deviations unrelated to instrument hardware
  • Performs investigations on results discrepancies reliably and consistently to recommend corrective processes that can be used
  • Performs dissolution procedures for the complex, non-routine and complicated methods which are not covered in the scope of dissolution procedures reliably and successfully
