Summation
Reports to the Group CEO. Lead the development and deployment of the Group’s overall approach to Strategic functions which include: knowledge management, performance management, special projects, capital investments, strategy formulation, and research and project portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead and oversee Group research, facilitation and alignment of individual BU strategic processes and consolidation, writing and production of a coherent corporate Group strategic plan and roadmap in compliance with PFMA.
•Lead and oversee the management of the financial responsibilities and functions of the Group Strategy Unit as well as the coordination of the SAPO Strategy Management functions for the Group and the reporting of the overall Group, Unit and Regional performance to the relevant stakeholders in accordance with the Group performance framework.
•Lead and oversee company wide knowledge preservation, and the creation of a knowledge sharing environment to protect Company intellectual knowledge.
•Lead and oversee the management of the Group Portfolio Office, in alignment with the company and business strategies to ensure effective and efficient strategy deployment through overall program and project management within SAPO governance framework.
•Lead and oversee the management of business process mapping and analysis within the approved framework of the Group to ensure processes are automated, optimised and managed cost effectively with a view to achieve ISO accreditation.
•Lead and oversee the development and implementation of the programs / projects in answer to strategic objectives within Financial Services to ensure beneficial congruency in stakeholder relationships.
•Lead and oversee the management and reporting of the total business case, operational leases and capital investment process as well as capital budget and prioritisation for the Group aligned to the Group’s strategic plan.
•Lead and oversee the establishment and management a strategic partnership framework for the Group in line with PFMA and
Treasury Regulations
•Participate in and perform all Exco duties
•Chairing of Steering and Special Committees
•Analyze and advise
on new business opportunities
•Strategic stakeholder management
•Advise all stakeholders of the changes in the relevant legislation / regulations to ensure the efficient management and
control/resources.
• Provide strategic support to the GCEO
• Ensure compliance in accordance with stipulations of the PFMA, fraud management and risk management principles, corporate governance, legislation, company policies, processes, industry related regulations, Delegation of Authority, etc.
Job Requirements/ Knowledge
•Minimum of an applicable post graduate qualification (NQF Level 7)
•Minimum of 10 year’s experience at senior management level
•Commercial awareness, including market and competitor analysis
•Extensive knowledge and understanding of strategy development and planning
•Extensive knowledge of developing and delivering business strategy
•Extensive knowledge of project and portfolio management
•Knowledge of SAPO business / strategies
•Knowledge of strategic process enhancement
•Knowledge of change management
•Working knowledge of systems requirements, analysis developmental methodologies
