    Identify marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitors’ share and competitors’ advantages and weaknesses; forecasting projected business
    Improve SABC Television platforms’ marketability and profitability by researching, identifying and capitalising on market opportunities; effectively promote programmes to increase audience growth in accordance with the Marketing strategy
    Liaise and sustain rapport with all media owners (radio, press and magazine) and customers to ensure effective publicity of SABC Television platforms’
    Direct internal and external marketing presentations to enhance communication, awareness and buy-in
    Obtain market share by planning, developing, implementing and evaluating advertising, merchandising, publicity and trade and consumer promotion programmes
    To enhance and sustain SABC Television platforms’ integrity across all markets
    Digital: Liase with the Digital department to ensure synergy of digital media elements and social media

Key Accountabilities:

             Collaborate with the camera operator while shooting the story
             Creatively and technically make sure the story makes sense and have covered all aspects of the storyboard while on production
             Responsible for quality control of the insert i.e.: making sure the flow of the story makes sense
             Compile off-line edits and working with the editor to achieve best possible package as well as write scripts when required
             Continuously keep in mind the delivery requirements and the a certain number of inserts to deliver every month

Requirements:

             Knowledge of Final Cut Pro editing software
             Degree in journalism or film and media studies
             A minimum of 3-years work experience in a television production environment
             Confident, responsible and accountable
             Excellent planning and organizing ability
             Outstanding problem solving ability
             Ability to lead and control projects from inception to delivery process
             Passionate about producing exceptional broadcast quality work
             Ability to take instruction as well as give feedback
