Position Summary
Position Summary

Provide Technical support to maintenance managers and engineers with respect to information gathering, data accumulation, basic processing and reporting. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of the different electronic systems on site.

Required outputs: Functional

• Maintenance and configuration of conventional and trunked radio systems (UHF bands
• Maintenance and configuration of CCTV systems
• Maintenance and configuration of intercom systems
• Maintenance and configuration of paging system
• Provide technical support and planning with the upgrading of the various electronic systems
• Do all project related designs and modifications of the electronic systems
• Do Factory acceptance and site acceptance tests on new equipment
• Update all project related drawings for drawing office
• Administration of radio system database
• Administration of paging system database
• Standby assistance on radio communication system

General

• Represent PACS department at Project model reviews
• Manage all own projects
• Organise and lead project meetings
• Organise and lead safety studies, minor modification and MOC’s
• Provide and supervise training on all new electronic systems
• Writing of procedures
• Liase with contractors and Vendors
• Supervise and co-ordinate work done by outside contractors
• Ensure that work done by contractors adhere to Natref specifications and standards

Job Requirements
• Gr 12 with Maths, Science and English or N3 with Maths; Science and Business English - Gr 12 - Must
• National Diploma in Engineering (T3/S4) – Electronics- Must
• 12 months as a Candidate Technician - Must
• Artisan Trade Test - Wish
• 4 years maintenance experience in a petro-chemical industry - Very strong Wish
• Driver’s Licence - Must

Specific experience required:

• Knowledge of discipline engineering principles
• Applied knowledge of Electronic systems:
o Conventional and trunked radio systems (UHF bands)
o CCTV systems
o Intercom systems
o Microprocessor based systems
o Paging System
o Fence alarm system
o Building management fire systems
• Applied knowledge of classified requirements (Intrinsic safety)
• Applied knowledge of discipline specific drawings, equipment and business processes
• SAP processes (Wish)
