Introduction:     A vacancy exists for a Services Manager based at Life St Dominic’s Hospital, reporting to Laro Fourie, Hospital Manager. Critical Outputs:    

Effective management of external service providers
• Identify, together with Group Procurement, applicable services and service providers
• Review SLA and in consultation with Group Procurement, document specific hospital requirements and ensure signature by relevant parties
• Drive and monitor conformance to SLA, identify gaps and implement corrective action
• Maintain productive relationships with service providers through regular meetings

Effective people management

Effective financial management
• Participate in budgeting process and monitor performance against budget
• Plan, agree and implement Capex expenditure with hospital management
• Ensure accurate and timeous invoices are received from external suppliers for processing
• Participate in and/or identify opportunities to improve business processes, systems and resource utilization in order to achieve financial savings for LHC
Effective quality systems management
• Ensure customer satisfaction survey is conducted on a regular basis and ensure requirements/complaints are identified, investigated, acted upon and managed appropriately
• Ensure external stakeholders conform to agreed quality standards and drive conformance to relevant health and safety legislation as it relates to area of responsibility
• Prepare for and participate in various audits
Effective facilities management
• Plan for new building projects together with local management, ensure approval of plans by local authorities, actively manage new builds and upgrades in collaboration with Group Engineering and obtain final approval by DOH and local authorities
• Monitor that maintenance is being executed timely and according to agreed standards and ensure all priority 1 and 2 equipment is maintained according to EAM (on-key) system
• Ensure compliance to LHC Engineering policy standards, on-key system and relevant legislation

• Oversee pre-admission trends with relevant manager and manage appropriately

• Manage compliance to the executive constraints per corporate governance, report deviations and take action where necessary
Effective quality management and customer relations
• Achieve and improve quality metrics, continuously monitor and measure processes to maintain and approve same and actively lead and promote LHC quality drive

Basic understanding of clinical terminology and a certificate in anatomy and physiology.
Clinical coding (having achieved industry competency level).
Comprehensive knowledge of funder contracts, funder rules, co-payments and exclusions.
