An exciting opportunity exists to join the NHLS Senior
Management Team as Founding Head of Training Academy and will be responsible to:
- Develop, execute and management of policies and regulations
- Responsible for the development and management of the training budget maintenance of costs within budget.
- Develop and implement business model and long-term sustainability plan for the Learning Academy.
- Manage and guide the Regional Training Managers in their roles to ensure consistency training services within the NHLS
- Provides strategic direction in the designing and development of training materials in line with skills development legislation.
- Oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of structured technical training programs for all students, interns and medical technologists curriculum within the NHLS according to HPCSA and HWSETAstandards.
- Oversee the organization and training activities complies with accreditation standards and registration requirements of the Professional Boards including the HWSETA within the technical environment as required by legislation.
- Provide strategic direction in the management and maintenance of training laboratories within the NHLS.
- Provide strategic guidance in the accreditation of the NHLS as a training provider and the sustainability of this status.
- Oversee the establishment and sustainability of the relevant learning academy related committees within the NHLS to ensure that training is provided in line with relevant legislation.
- Provide strategic direction in the development, implementation and monitoring of workplace learning programmes (learner ships, internships and graduate programmes).
- Develop and oversee the implementation of the strategy relating to evaluation, appointment and monitoring of service providers in line with organizational needs and skills development Act.
- Be responsible for EXCO and the HWSETA in order to ensure compliance with requirements of legislation and stakeholders.
- Ensure the support and expansion of African Centre for Integrative Laboratory Training (ACILT) programs for the benefit of laboratory systems strengthening throughout South African and the African continent.

- Recognized degree in higher education/training
- Demonstrated Track Record Desirable
