Job Title:   Senior Stock Controller - Theatre
Function:   Finance / Administration

Introduction:  
A position has become available for a committed individual to join the hospital as a Senior Stock Controller for Theatre, reporting to the Unit Manager in Theatre.

Critical Outputs:  
Taking full responsibility for stock controllers within the Theatre.
Ensure all inventory management requirements are met with a specific emphasis on the following aspects:
Ordering stock from preferred suppliers
Maintaining stock levels in theatre with minimum out of stock s
Achieve and maintain dead stock targets
Manage cycle counts and quarterly stock takes including variance investigation.
Liaise with nursing staff and ward clerks regarding queries and timeous follow up.
Implement and maintain formulary conversions
Ensure prosthesis process is followed in theatre

Requirements:  
Matric and a nursing background would be a definite advantage.
Must be computer literate. Knowledge of Life Healthcare system (IMEDS) will be an advantage.
A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
Precise and meticulous in work.
Administrative experience.
Able to work under pressure.
The ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
Available for duties on weekends and public holidays if required.
Flexi-time as required by the Unit.

Life Entabeni Hospital is looking for a Clinical Engineer to function as part of the facilities and maintenance team providing medical equipment and technology management services. The majority of this job is preventative and corrective maintenance on a broad array of medical equipment and technologies. The job also includes some administrative and consultative work participating in equipment and resource planning and allocation.


Critical Outputs:    
To conform to the ECRI standard on all medical devices
To respond to service calls on a broad complexity range of electrical, electronic, electron mechanical, mechanical and pneumatic medical equipment & devices.
To differentiate equipment failures from environmental, applications, supplies operator or patient induced problems.
To order parts considering alternative part options for cost savings & improvements
To repair equipment and calibrate to manufacturers specifications & inspect prior to returning to service
To document all work performed and all preventative maintenance inspection/safety checks
To perform incoming inspections on all medical equipment items – new, loaned, leased, and rented or physician owned.
To instruct hospital personnel on proper & safe use of equipment
To provide technical assessment & recommendations on purchase options of all medical equipment/systems
To coordinate new equipment purchasing and installations
To maintain a fixed asset register of all hospital medical equipment – Computerised EAM Onkey system

Requirements:    
Three years electronic/clinical engineering technology education and a supporting national diploma or degree. Preference will be given to applicants with a degree
Two years work experience in a medical environment in an electronics field
Ability to be flexible and shift priorities and activities regularly
High levels of communication and cooperation are required
Ability to function independently identifying, initiating and completing work assignments
Be computer literate and familiar with MS Office
