Vacancy: Project Manager

G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading global integrated security solutions company has an immediate vacancy for a Project Manager.

Reporting to the General Manager: Technology, the Project Manager is directly responsible for management of project processes. This includes understanding project goals, deadlines, and financial boundaries so that resources can be allocated, scheduled and meet project deadlines.

The position requires experience within a security or services environment. The successful incumbent is a self starter with a proven track record in delivering on expectations, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.


Role Responsibility:

Effective management of the technology contract financial performance

    Manage profitability of contracts with a focus on maintenance, sustainability, cost effectiveness and labor.
    Initiate cost saving model and controls
    Gross Margin Management
    Existing Revenue Growth
    Manage the contract cash flow and oversight of invoice documentation and accuracy of information

Documentation Management

    Detailed project plans
    Detailed scope of work documents
    Detailed action plans
    Detailed site and solution drawings
    Detailed flow charts and projects performance graphs.
    Power point presentations.
    Prepare training material relevant to the project.
    Manage training at branch level to ensure all relevant staff members are trained.
    Facilitate assessments of staff to take place regularly.
    Determine areas where training is required, and facilitate this with the training department.
    Update Company policies and procedures to include operations relevant to the project.
    Identify Training Requirements based on branch problems, audits conducted or need identified by branches.
    Design, compile and implement operational procedures and manuals to improve business processes.

Effective management of operations

    Managing the Maintenance/Project process flow and activities that has a direct/indirect impact on the outcome and success of contract
    New business development
    Client retention and customer service levels
    Quality Management/Ops Process management – adherence to quality standard
    Shared Best Practice

Effective management of staff

    Liaise with regional operational teams around resource requirements
    Communicate and schedule work rosters and requirements
    Monitor attendance and performance of technical installation teams.
    Escalate and manage disciplinary matters and noncompliance with policy and procedure
    Maintain and adhere to G4S Disciplinary code and enforce company policies.


The Ideal Candidate:

    Qualifcation/Requirements

    Formal Security Management Training advantageous
    Electronic Security Services Management (3yrs – Management or similar)
    Extensive experience w.r.t. implementation of systems such as Intruder detection, CCTV, Access Control etc.
    Experience in Sales of Corporate (Large) Projects
    Control Room Service experience
    Financial Management relative to Security Industry
    Good conceptual interpretation and presentation of Financial and Operational Reports to Executive Management.
    Software Knowledge – such as CCTV, Access Controle, Time and Attendance etc.
    Hardware Knowledge – such as Alarms, Electric Fencing, Gate Motors etc.
