Job Title: Electrician - Electrical Section

Purpose

The purpose of the job is to ensure the maintenance of all electrical networks and related equipment including general electrical appliances used in the catering, residence and other divisions.

Requirements

The incumbent must preferably have completed an apprenticeship OR learnership (NQF Level 4) as an electrician and passed the necessary trade test. He/ She must have an NTC 2 (Grade 11 Technical)certificate or equivalent ,and have two years post trade test  experience where such experience includes: -

    Previous experience in light and heavy current voltage systems
    Previous experience in maintaining power sub-stations
    Experience in fault diagnosis, maintenance and repair of general electrical appliances
    Previous experience in installation, maintenance, and repairs of general lighting equipment.
    Previous experience in safety and working within the regulations laid down by OHSA
    A valid code 8 driver’s licence will be a distinct advantage.  If the incumbent does not have a valid code 8 driver’s licence he/she must be prepared to acquire one within the first year of employment.
    Previous supervision experience and/or a supervision certificate will be an advantage.
