Pharmacy Stock Clerk Job at Netcare in Sandton

Role Title: Pharmacy Stock Clerk
Location: St Annes Hospital
Reporting structure: Pharmacy Manager

ROLE SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Stock Clerk is responsible for the receiving of stock, capturing of goods received onto the Netcare stock system, collating and filing corresponding documents and producing bar-code labels. Also responsible for capturing of ward charge sheets.

KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Data capture of stock
  • Receive stock delivered to the pharmacy
  • Packing of stock according to replenishment list
  • Attending to ward queries
  • Assisting in collating information forward movement of stock
  • Assist with pharmacy front counter duties
  • Maintain stock and responsible for stock management in selected areas
  • Do monthly cyclical counts.
  • Assist in stock take
  • Identify slow moving stock, or near expiry date stock for return to supplier
  • Available for shift work, part of the stock rotation team on weekend roster
SKILLS PROFILE EDUCATION
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Computer literate.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies.
The incumbent will further be responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or a group of patients, for assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs, is a role model in the delivery of evidence based care and will actively participate in Clinical Governance.

KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Audit health records to ensure compliance
  • Ensure all stock is well controlled and managed, charged and credited appropriately
  • Keep abreast of current research in the discipline
  • Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities
  • Attend handover of report at shift commencement
  • Practice the principles of infection prevention and all standard precautions
  • Promote and maintain good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors
  • Execute all procedures according to hospital standards
  • Provide and supervise the delivery of evidence based nursing care
  • Communicate with Health Care Practitioners regarding any change in health status
  • Participate in ward/units quality improvement programme
