Job Title: Web Analyst
Location: eNCA Online Department in Johannesburg
Reporting to the GM: Online your key performance areas will include:
Monitor and analyse audience patterns and behaviour across all eNCA online platforms (including apps and social platforms) using various analytical tools
Identify and procure appropriate software tools to support the evolving analytics and data management needs of the business
Source and implement a central data management platform that integrates audience data from multiple first- and third-party sources to provide a single view of user
Coordinate tags, goals and tracking parameters, working closely with the development team
Oversee multivariate and A/B testing: create hypotheses, identify success metrics and provide guidance on optimisation
Create dashboards for various stakeholders within the business by aggregating and summarising key demographic and behavioural data from various data sources
Work closely with advertising operations to assist with data-driven ad targeting
Compile and distribute daily, weekly and monthly reports to stakeholders incorporating site, app and social media metrics, competitor analysis and progress against various targets.
Formulate strategies for using audience data in pursuit of commercial and strategic objectives
Pro-actively identify opportunities for using data to improve performance in areas including advertising sales, feature and product development and editorial, and assist the relevant departmental managers in implementing improvements
Produce ad hoc reports and presentations as required by the GM and other managers
Requirements:
At least three years’ experience in web analytics and data analysis, including social analytics
Familiarity with commonly used web, social and app analytics packages
Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel
Outstanding problem solving ability
Impeccable accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Degree in Statistics or Information Technology a plus
HTML/CSS and basic front-end coding ability a definite advantage
Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with stakeholders across various facets of the business, including development, marketing, editorial and management
