The purpose of this position is to provide Leadership and Management in the Study Material Centre of the Directorate: Despatch in order to ensure that the Directorate has the necessary capacity and skills to respond to the dynamic warehousing and distribution needs as well as challenges. The purpose of the job is to ensure correct study material delivered to the correct student on time, thereby contributing to the achievement of UNISA 2015 strategic plan, Key strategic objectives 6.8 and 6.10 respectively.
Requirements
· Matric plus a 3 year appropriate degree in the fields of business, warehousing, distribution, mailing logistics or supply chain from a duly recognized and accredited institution
· 6 years’ experience in a warehousing, distribution, mailing, logistics or supply chain environment of which 3 years should be at management level/capacity
· Must have a good knowledge of supply chain processes and extensive knowledge of processes and procedures with regard to the management of warehousing and logistics operations
· General management knowledge related to human resource management, financial management, contract management, tender management, procurement, occupational health and safety, risk management and quality management
· Relevant legislation such as OHS Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Consumer Protection Act
· Unisa Vision and Mission together with relevant institutional policies and plans
Skills:
· Report writing, presentation, problem solving and project management skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication
· Chairing of meetings
Abilities:
· The ability to manage people, to plan, organize and prioritize
· Capable of solving problems and making recommendations
· The ability to work long hours and under extreme pressure
