Strategic Planning Facilitator Job at Department of Agriculture Forestry & Fisheries in Pretoria

JOB TITLE: STRATEGIC PLANNING FACILITATOR
REF NO: 33/2014

SALARY: R495 603 per annum (all inclusive flexible remuneration package)

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree or National diploma in Public Management or any relevant degree in Agriculture. 
  • Extensive experience in the field of strategic and operational planning, project and programme management as well as public policy development. 
  • Knowledge of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sector legislation, policies and prescripts. Working knowledge of National outcomes, the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act1 of 1999) (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations. 
  • Facilitation, problem solving, 5 interpersonal relations, report writing and communication (verbal and written) skills.

DUTIES:
  • The incumbent will be responsible to coordinate, advise and liaise with Line
  • Function Managers on strategic and operational planning matters and activities.
  • Research and analyze high level strategic information. 
  • Develop guidelines for strategic planning, operational and strategic interventions. 
  • Develop and review planning indicators and ensure that outputs are aligned to indicators. 
  • Coordinate the alignment of strategic and operational sessions with the planning cycle.
  • Coordinate outcomes at Inter-governmental level. 
  • Coordinate the alignment of strategic plans of Provincial Department’s of Agriculture with the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Facilitate and coordinate strategic and operational planning sessions for Directorates. Provide strategic and operational planning services to relevant Directorates and Programmes. Supervise staff.
