 Job Description


    To plan, direct and execute the entire spectrum of human capital function within a business unit. To support the Human Capital Department to achieve the strategic objectives, as set out in the Human Capital Strategic Action Plan. Act as the Human Capital Lead on a range of different Projects and responsibilities.

    To act as the change agent in managing organisational change where this relates to HC related activities.

    Line Management responsibilities for Human Capital Officers covering different regions and curriculum areas across the Retail Operations Business Unit.

Job Requirements

PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION


    Bachelors degree or equivalent in human resource management with finance related subjects


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE


    5 - 8 years of generalist human resource experience in delivering transactional Human Capital including recruitment and employment relations at a management level. Excellent Working knowledge of employment law with the ability to apply it practically to workplace situations. Excellent understanding of Human Capital best practice and ability to apply. Experience of formal report writing for different stakeholders. Experience of leading on organisational change projects.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Strategic Partner to Business Unit


    Align Human Capital strategic direction to that of business priorities.

    Anticipate potential leadership gaps and develop sources of top talent.

    Build execution capability into leadership development programmes

    Coaches, Mentors, and guides business around people, engagement and performance.

    Leads complex change and transformation programmes.


Management of the HC environment within an identified Business Unit


    Define and deliver a Human Capital strategy for the Business unit in consultation with the BU Executive team and HC Executive team

    Oversee the management of organisational structures, manpower planning, job profiling and grading of all positions

    Manage the execution of people change plans for any major changes including communication with all stakeholders.

    Analyse and provide written comment on all identified risk reports as required by the business and agree action plans to rectify where necessary

    Participate in process improvement projects initiated in the business or by Human Capital

    Provide support and guidance to managers on an ongoing basis.

    Organise and conduct 1 on 1 meeting with managers on a minimum of a monthly basis.

    Provide advice and guidance to managers during periods of business or structural change.

    Assist newly appointed and promoted managers in understanding their roles and responsibilities.

    Develop, recommend and implement staff policies and procedures


Manage the full employee cycle within the Business Unit


    Manage the recruitment activity within the Business Unit to agreed service levels, costs and standards within the defined recruitment strategy of the Bank

    Manage the Performance Management and Development of all staff within the Business Unit

    Assist business with the nominations and selections of people for development initiatives.

    Manage the exit function of staff within the Business Unit

    Coordinate the delivery of learning to the business unit in consultation with the COE : Learning and Development

    Manage the talent management process in the business unit in consultation with COE: Talent Development

    Manage the employee engagement processes in the business unit in consultation with COE: Talent Development


Administration


    Manage the transactional activities of all HC Related functions within the Business Unit

    Review processes, policies and procedures on an ongoing basis to identify any areas of improvement in efficiency

    Support the annual budget planning process by understanding headcount growth and plans and validating deviations

    Support managers in applying HC policies and procedures etc

    Provide support to individual employees where the management route is inappropriate or has proved ineffective.

    Gather and consolidate the Learning Needs for the business to feed into the WSP and the Organisational Learning Plan.


Reporting


    Identify and develop reports required by the business in consultation with relevant stakeholders

    Analyse reports and provide written comments where necessary within agreed time frames


Client Relationship Management 


    Create and maintain productive relationships with internal clients through providing advice and conducting client visits:

    Meet monthly with clients regarding training of previous month’s deliverables (Actual vs Planned) as well as training to be conducted for next month

    Provide feedback on deliverables to direct manager as per agreed timelines

    Maintain effective relationships with external service providers by evaluating performance through SLAs.

    Keep the client informed about progress on the real need through written communication, telephone communications and interpersonal meetings

    Build a positive image of the learning through exceeding client expectations at all times

    Provide support to the front line Managers to facilitate proactive identification of learning needs


People Management & General


    Support the production of Human Capital updates for all staff, as appropriate.

    Support cultural changes across the Retail Operations space through a variety of different methods, including implementing action plans following the People Engagement Survey, enabling managers to more effectively line manage their people, strongly encouraging managers to take greater responsibility for their people.

    To support the effective delivery of a higher performing Human Capital service, through the further development of the Human Capita Officers, ensuring that the high standards within the team are developed and maintained.

    Acting as an ambassador for the HC Business Partner model, actively driving up standards to highlight the benefits of the model for all people and managers.

    To actively manage direct reports, ensuring that meetings (where applicable) and regular one to one meetings take place to assist the Human Capital Department to drive up standards within the team and to ensure that the Human Capital team provide a high-level of customer service at all times.
