The purpose of the job is to assist the Manager: Data Processing and Management (AIMS) in updating the academic structure using restricted access functions to ensure that the data is at all times correct and is updated timeously to facilitate a smooth academic support and administrative processes. The incumbent will also offer an advisory and technical support service to both academic and administrative departments.
Requirements:
· Matric and a completed 3 year qualification or an equivalent on NQF level 6 or 7, preferably with Information Science as a major
· At least 3 years applicable Programme Qualification Mix (PQM) and academic structure experience at a Higher Education environment
· Knowledge of academic programmes structures and Higher Education regulatory sub-framework (HEQsF)
· Previous experience in data capturing or data management is recommended.
· High level of integrity to ensure safety of database and the academic structure
· A good command of written and spoken English.
· Extensive knowledge of computer packages

ü Ability to interpret and analyse information received from academic departments

Duties:
· Render advisory role to academic and administrative staff
· Management and maintenance of the academic structure on the academic Information Management System
· Updating of Unisa publications
· Curriculum management
· Compile monthly reports on system and process gaps to improve business processes
· Implement quality management systems and processes
· Conduct data analysis on AIMS
· Monthly reporting on activities; system and process gaps to improve business processes
