MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION

To formulate and manage employee wellness strategies, policies and procedures across the SABC,provide Wellness direction and guidance to management and all staff.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

•    Design and implement effective health and wellness programmes.
•    Promote and deliver Holistic Health & Wellness Education Strategy.
•    Review and develop policies processes and procedures, toaligned them to the SABC business strategy.
•    Conduct Occupational health risk assessments and reporting.
•    Manage ill-health and disease prevention programmes.
•    Provide support and guidance with regards toIncapacity & Medical Boarding
•    Manage the provision of Primary health care.
•    Provide guidance and support in Chronic Disease Management.
•    Manage Fitness for work assessments.
•    Manage Occupational Health Assessments (Periodical Health Assessments, Exit Medical Assessments and Executive Health Assessments /Excu care programme).
•    Management and Provision Travel Medicine Programme.
•    Design and Implement Pre & Post Retirement preparation Programme.
•    Advise, consult, communicate and train management and supervisors on, Employee Health strategies, relatedpolicies and practices and procedures.
•    Ensure synergies and alignment between HRBPP and Business Units in providing health and wellness solutions.
•    Manage competence; morale and performance of direct reports attend to all people management and development issues emanating from direct reports.
•    Coach /mentor and ensure all direct reports undergo continuous professional development (CPD), accumulate points and maintain their professional registration status.
•    Conduct health risk assessments and report to Management.
•    Conduct individual and or group therapeutic interventions,counselling support and ensure cases are registered and case reportsgenerated.
•    Report quarterly on the health profile of SABC employees at all levels and ensure that appropriate remedial action is taken where there are high health risks.
•    Develop and implement Employee Health and Wellness record keeping/case administration on SAP.
•    Manage the quality of Health and Wellness service provider deliverables are per agreed signed off contract and that they meet all deliverables (contract management).
•    Effective Management of the Health & Wellness Centre (facilities).
•    Ensure the Health and wellness centre is resourced adequately and provides relevant health and wellness solutions to the SABC employees.
•    Design and deliver on life skills programmes and personal development and empowerment programmes.
•    Educate employees on health preventative screening, health risks and life style changes required to improve personal wellness and health.
•    Build a positive culture of health within the SABC thus lowering medical aid costs reducing absenteeism and occupational injuries.
•    Make referrals to applicable medical specialists and institutions.
•    Assess requests for medical disability , pension to determine viability of request
•    Make recommendations on medical disability requests in conjunction with Medical Disability Committee.
•    Handle and counsel general staff complaints and facilitate resolution
•    Manage the medical disability database.
•    Use and apply relevant psychological diagnostic tools where required
•    Manage the Provision of Psychological support to children of staff members where required.
•    Facilitate the accreditation of the SABC Health & Wellness Centre as a training Centre for Psychology Students due for enrolment in an accredited Internship Programme and supervise interns.
•    Conduct competency assessments where required.
•    Provide education on ergonomics and compliance thereof.
•    Efficient and cost effective resourcing planning of the Health & wellness Centre.
•    Manage Health & Wellness Budget.
•    Manage and Implement bereavement/trauma counselling and support.
•    Manage and Co-ordinate multi denominational support programmes.
•    Build partnership with sports committees and the gym facilities manager to promote fitness.
•    Monitoring, evaluation and impact and efficacy assessments of health & wellness interventions.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
o    Clinical Psychology / Industrial Psychology Master’s DegreeNQF Level 8
o    Minimum 5 years in the practice of clinical or industrial psychology
o    Experience in Managing/co-ordinating Employee Health &Wellness Programmes and Occupational Health and Safety
o    Professional Registrationas practicing psychologist with HPCSA& Board of Psychology
o    Experience in administering of competency assessments and other psychological tests/Psychometric tests
