Reporting to the Group News Editor your key performance areas will include:
Reporting
Produce high quality in-depth news content for TV, print and online, including live reports.
Ensure the news content is accurate, well researched and original.
All work should be of the highest ethical standards.
Work closely and effectively with camera operators, video editors and related production staff and News Management.
Strong writing skills of TV, print and online.
Shoot and edit own material.
Pre-Production and Post-Production
Ensure stories are well researched and production is thoroughly planned in advance.
Oversee and take responsibility for the post production of all reports or forms of content.
Detailed knowledge of e.SAT’s broadcast systems
Promotion of Editorial Content
Assist in the marketing, promotions and editorial coverage relating to all reports.
Training
Mentor and train junior staff as required from time to time.
Requirements:
Journalism qualification, Legal preferable
Minimum 10 years of reporting experience
Thorough understanding of South Africa and global affairs
Ability to report for TV, print, online. Should have a specialist skill in either Law, Politics, Science, Medical, Business and Economics.
