Job Title: Information Security Manager

Location: Centurion


 Position Purpose

    To ensure that the MMI information is adequately protected from internal and external threats. To proactively address security threats that the environment faces.


    Experience & Qualifications

    • Relevant Diploma or Degree
    • Minimum of 10 years information security experience
    • Compulsory: Must have worked in an operational security environment
    • Please note this is not a security governance position.
    • Must have experience in managing an operational information security team

    Ideal Candidate will have experience on the following:

    • Compiling and implementing an information security strategy
    • Knowledge of security best practices
    • A good working knowledge of the following technologies
    o SIEM
    o DAM
    Mail content filtering
    o Web content filtering
    o Antivirus and endpoint protection
    o Checkpoint firewalls
    o Risk Management principles


    The Incumbent will be responsible for:

    • Managing an operational information security team
    • Budget Management
    • Ensuring the Information Security Management strategy is defined, communicated, operationalised, measured and continuously improved.
    • Proactively manage security risks facing MMI.
    • Enforce compliance with security best practice.
    • Engage with system administrators in all disciplines.
    • Engage in forensic investigations.
    • Investigate and report on alternative/future technologies.
    • Liaise with business partners and internal clients.
    • Assist with disaster recovery procedures.
    • Dealing with audit and security assessment vendors.
    • Lead negotiations and internal business partners and external vendors.
    • Keeping abreast of security industry trends, data protection standards, data intruder detection and prevention strategies, security standards and best practices.
