Job Title: Finance Manager

    Introduction

    The incumbent will have overall responsibility for accurate and timely reporting for companies in the Metropolitan International division.

    Reporting line: Chief Financial Officer

    Location: Cape Town

    The Incumbent will be responsible for:

    • Establishment and maintenance of sound accounting practices, procedures and controls in subsidiaries.
    • Overall review of all subsidiary results, budgets and forecasts on an ongoing basis.
    • Support to subsidiary finance managers, including general and technical accounting queries.
    • Training for subsidiary finance managers. Locations will vary between Cape Town and the countries (currently 12 countries throughout Africa).
    • Liaison with group finance division to ensure compliance with group reporting requirements and deadlines.
    • Liaison with International actuarial valuations team to ensure appropriate reporting for life subsidiaries.
    • Close liaison with external auditors to co-ordinate signoff to the group.
    • Input on dividend policies for subsidiaries.

    The applicant should meet these requirements:

    • The candidate must be a qualified Chartered Accountant.
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience operating at a Senior Management level, preferably in financial services.
    • Competent in the use of the MS Office suite of products
