Finance Division Payroll Administrator job at Rhodes University in Grahamstown




Job Title: Payroll Administrator - Finance Division

Purpose:
To ensure that all staff and student claims are paid and to ensure correct payment for those who are on the salary payroll including ensuring that all necessary deductions are made. This will be achieved by ensuring that all the information is captured correctly and within the prescribed payroll deadlines for the payment of salaries.   To process staff loans and assist staff with their loan applications.   Assist in managing the various loan control accounts and loan bad debt.

Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma (3 years of study) PLUS 4 years relevant experience OR Matric plus 7 years relevant experience where such experience includes: -
Previous experience working with a computerized payroll system, preferably VIP
 Previous experience in handling payroll queries
 Previous accounting experience required in loans administration/ account reconciliations/ compiling of general ledger journals/general ledger
