Job Title: Tyrebay Supervisor


DIVISION: TECHNICAL SUPPORT – HEAVY MAINTENANCE
LOCATION: HANGAR 2, SAA TECHNICAL, O R TAMBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

PURPOSE
Responsible for repairing, replacing and maintaining aircraft wheels and tyres. Whilst supervising a team of Tyre Bay Assistants and ensuring compliance within the scope of the job.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
1. The minimum education requirement is a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
2. Prior experience as a licenced aircraft engineer would be advantageous.
3. Must have technical ability and mechanical skills.
4. Must have the ability to supervise, motivate and discipline a team of subordinates.
5. Willing to attend training when requested.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Supervising Tyre Bay workers during the process of repairing, replacing and maintaining aircraft wheels and tyres.
2. Ensure the neatness in the tyre bay workshop as per company standards
3. Keeping track of and ordering of all spare parts for the tyre bay.
4. Ensure NDT testing is carried out in accordance with company standards.
5. Will assist with additional duties within the context of the job description.
6. Responsibilities must be carried in accordance with company standards and Occupational Health and Safety Standards.
7. Will attend training as and when instructed.
