Overview    

The Maintenance Coordinator position is at the forefront of our Engineering Team, leading a team of Fitters, Electricians, Millwrights and Maintenance Planner. This role is responsible for plant availability compromising of fast packaging lines, and mixing tanks etc in our Beverages manufacturing plant which is based in Roodekop, Johannesburg. This role requires a maintenance foreman who has a solid background in maintenance of machines in the FMCG environment, with proven abilities to coordinate the efforts of artisans in all maintenance activities. The incumbent must have been a leader of the Engineering team and had exposure in the engineering/maintenance systems such as job card system, PRAGMA or similar systems.
Purpose     To act as the unit's maintenance specialist and advisor to ensure that the unit's assets are continuously improved and maintained to standard.
Key Responsibilities    

• Develop, deploy and maintain a unit's Asset Management Strategy.
• Implement, maintain and manage the administration of Planned Maintenance Management System.
• Provide, manage and maintain the unit's utilities (water, steam, elec, effluent).
• Ensure that the unit complies with the necessary safety regulations.
• Determine, manage and maintain training (artisans, operator 1st and 2nd line maintenance tasks).
• Develop, deploy and monitor assets BOP's.
• Manage asset integrity and carry out quality control audits on maintenance activities.
• Manage maintenance outsourcing and projects.
• Engineering Stores and Retention Store management.
• Manage and motivate staff.

Required Experience    

• Experience in maintenance environment in a plant (preferred FMCG)
• Minimum of 3-7 years performing this job
• Strong production/manufacturing/electrical/instrumentation background.

Technical/Functional Skills    

• Computer Literate - MS Office, Oracle, MS access.
• Analytical and problem solving ability
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good communication skills & service orientated skills
• Planning skills with a high degree of control to complete items quickly and efficiently.
• Fundamental understanding of beverage processing equipment
• Ability to think strategically & to be able to implement a maintenance strategy
• Good Innovative thinking skills
• Good Knowledge of Risk control programmes and safety programmes.




Minimum Qualifications     o M+3/ Diploma - Knowledge of specialized principles or techniques obtained through a three year structured learning program.
Preferred Industry Experience    

Experience as Maintenance Leader in FMCG industry
