Supervisor: Networks and Infrastructure
Applications are invited for the position of Supervisor; Networks and Infrastructure, based in Bruma. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Senior Manager: Technology R&D.
Major activities:
• Ensure the effective operation of WAN/LAN, telephony systems, security, HW (office automation, ie printers, firewall, router, switches, firewall proxies, etc), ISP and SW in order to ensure service delivery to both internal and external customers
• Manage and monitor services provided by network and infrastructure-related vendors? ie ISP, etc
• Establish internal and external stakeholders to be engaged for respective research projects
• Oversee design and implementation of network optimisation based on network monitoring information
• Ensure operational efficiency and optimal use of NW infrastructure assets
• Monitor network anti-virus protection systems and software
• Develop and continually update the technology space map for the IT NW infrastructure with new asset acquisition
• Provide management reports for submission to EXCO and the Bid Adjudication Committee (BAC) to facilitate necessary approvals
• Participate in configuration control issues/changes relating to other IT systems
• Support the technology forecasting process in technology R&D and ensure that it incorporates network infrastructure
• Define KPIs and metrics for the IT network infrastructure that will ensure effective service delivery for ATNS to meet the requirements of both internal and external customers
• Provide input to tender process/projects with requirements for IT network infrastructure during RF drafting, evaluation and acquisition processes
• Develop and continually review applicable dashboards for monitoring of network utilisation and traffic analysis and ensure that systems are monitored by PRC
• Evaluate and procure optimal network management technology solutions that will advance ATNS
• Ensure efficient VLAN network plan and design
• Develop and review the current disaster recovery management plan and make recommendations for continuous improvement in order to ensure business continuity
• Mentor and lead direct reports
• Continuously review policies and procedures for the IT infrastructure and make recommendations to be implemented in alignment with TIL and ISO guidelines
• Implement Quality Assurance in Business Systems processes documenting and maintaining Quality Assurance processes and procedures.
Minimum qualifications:
• BSc/BTech Information Technology or equivalent qualification
• Qualified/trained Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
• Certified Network Administrator (CNE or CCNA).
Minimum experience:
• 5 years of experience, with sound knowledge of network administration for network routers, switches and hubs
• Sound experience in LAN/WAN infrastructure deployment, traffic analysis, optimisation and capacity planning
• Good knowledge of network security management, including SAN storage and RAID technology option
• Network administration/PC environment support as well as knowledge management in area of expertise
• High level of technical/professional knowledge.
