Summary:
Directs the development of short, medium and long term strategies, objectives, policies, budget and
operating plans for the Unit. Implement relevant Human Resources
Strategies to support business objectives. Identify key challenges facing the organisation and timely design appropriate Human Resources Strategies and Interventions. Benchmark for introducing best practice interventions in terms of Human Resources Development, Human Resources Operations, Employee Relations matters and other related Human Resources business imperatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide a generalist Human Resources service to the organisation at a strategic level.
• Development, formulation, implement, monitoring and revisions of Human Resources policy in-line with best practice, legislation and align it with the group strategy of SAPO in order to support business objectives
• Ensure that union negotiations and related employee relations are in-line with best practices.
• Facilitate the management of surplus staff through appropriate Human Resources strategies.
• Ensure the application of relevant performance management systems throughout the organisation.
• Accountable for ensuring that targets as defined in the strategic plan, Postal Act and license agreement are met.
• Exercise a senior management leadership role beyond the confines of Human Resources.
• Involved in personnel matters arising from transformation and change management interventions,
which includes union involvement, external stakeholders and
shareholder communication in promoting current and
future interventions.
• Evaluate and explore options for internal and external partnerships that will benefit the
organisation financially.
• Strategise for short, medium and long term on HIV/Aids inter
ventions as a critical business
imperative.
• Design best practice methods for the management of the Pension and Medical Fund.
• Build strong relationships with the shareholders’ and industry players and continuously look for better ways of marketing the Human Resources services offered.
• Ensure the efficient management and control of the function / resources in
accordance with the stipulations of the PFMA, fraud prevention and risk management principles, legislation, Corporate governance, Delegation of Powers, company policies, processes, regulations, etc.
Job Requirements, Skills &
Knowledge:
• Master’s degree (NQF L8) in the relevant field.
• Five years at Senior HR Executive level in a large organisation
• At least five years large organisational transformation and change management experience. •
Sound knowledge of employment and labour legislation.
• 5-8 years HR general management experience at
executive level in a major company.
• Code EB driving license.
