Contracting Advisor Job at Sasol in Secunda



Position Summary

The major purpose of the Senior Advisor SC: Contracting is to apply Category Contract processes to fulfil the various Business Units’ customer needs by applying specialist expert knowledge within a specific procurement category along the key business processes standardised strategies, operating models, policies and procedures for effective Contracting, Contract Management. Integration of the Procurement Category and Business Units, and between the Procurement Category and the relevant Strategic Sourcing Team.

Integration of the Category in Procurement Management with Supply Demand Management, Materials Management and the Projects Procurement environment. Manage the relationship between Procurement Management per Category and its Key Stakeholders. Deliver on performance measures and implementation plans for the respective Category to maximise on-contract spend in the Sasol Group. Compliance to governance and entrenchment of best practices in Procurement Management per respective Category.

REQUIRED OUTPUTS: GENERAL
-Establishment and execution of general sourcing plans
-Execution of plans established by Strategic Sourcing
-Managing and administering current supply contracts which includes contracts across BU’s
-Maximization of automating once off contracts through establishing term agreements to create of
capacity and enable Supply Demand Management
-Manage internal and external stake holder’s relationships which include key suppliers and various
Business Units
-Integration in the supply chain between different departments, functions and business units, such as
Supply Demand Management, Materials Management, Inventory Management, Supplier Management,
Strategic Sourcing, Finance, Master Data and other Category Management teams in procurement.
-Achieve, measure and report Cost Containment
-Application of standard Procurement contracts
-Application of the Contracting Model
-Adherence to governance and mitigation all commercial risks
-Compilation and adherence to service level agreements with relevant stakeholders
-Identification of potential suppliers for new requirements
-Manage relationship with key suppliers

REQUIRED OUTPUTS: FUNCTIONAL (the core content and deliverables of the position):
Strategic activities
-Understand the market and environment in terms of the Category approach in procurement and the impact of trends on Procurement and services to fully leverage opportunities
-Develop, implement and manage sourcing plans for non strategic contracts to fully leverage Sasol purchasing capabilities and to promote and position Procurement’s services cluster of commodities with all stakeholders
-Sourcing plans to be aligned with the Supply Chain and BU strategy.
-Adhere to governance of Procurement and Supply activities
-Ensure cost containment
-Support processes and practices that are implemented to build capability, manage resource diversity and adherence to Sasol values to create a high performance work environment
-Perform on world class standards and implement best practices
-Share knowledge by means of training, developing and coaching colleagues to grow to their full potential, build a motivated and inspiring culture and lead change

-Contribute towards the Supply Chain executive team and strategy
-Ensure functional integration between all stakeholders

Tactical activities :
-Negotiate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal agreements taking into account cost, quality and speed
-Implement of term contracts

-Support the delivery of P and SM DOV for Procurement
-Achieve key performance measures
-Deliver on customer service levels, supply reliability, governance, risk and regulations
-Governance, ethics, legal compliance, sustainability
-Contribute towards applicable technology development and effectiveness
-Support manager with regards to functional information monitoring, interpretation and application
-Support manager with functional performance reporting to GEC, Supply Chain and stakeholders
-Prioritisation of work
-Ensure standard compliance/corporate governance in Supply Chain systems, Supply Chain -standards
and statutory requirements

-Measure and report Price Containment

-Participate in operational problem solving relating to the Shared Services and Supply Chain
environments
-Solve problems and make decisions relating to service offering and delivery across the supply chain
-Ensuring on-time payments to Suppliers
-Manage key supplier relations
-Functional network in Supply Chain
-Ensure customer satisfaction through service level agreements

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND CAPABILITIES:
-Essential: B Degree or National Diploma (NQF 6)
-Procurement and Contracting experience

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE:
-3-5 Years applicable experience essential (With B Degree)
-5-7 Years applicable experience essential (With National Diploma)
