Pharmacist Assistant Job at Life Healthcare in Pinetown

Introduction:
  
A vacancy exists for a Pharmacist Assistant in the KZN Region, reporting to the Pharmacy Manager. The job entails the professional supply of medication to patients, wards and theatre, as well as the procurement and handling of ethical and surgical stock.

Critical Outputs:
    
Perform duties as per scope of practice.
Processing of hospital and retail prescriptions.
Processing of credits
Issuing of ward stock to wards, theatre and clinics.
Replacement of medication to the emergency cupboard.
Active involvement in stock-takes and cycle counts with variance investigations.
Unpacking stock , checking expiries and reconciling invoices.
Dead stock management.
Ordering of ethical stock.
Any other task that the line manager may deem necessary for the efficient operation of the pharmacy.

Requirements:
   
Qualification as a pharmacist assistant (post basic) and registration with the South African Pharmacy Council.
Computer literacy is essential.
A working knowledge of Impilo will be an advantage.
Good organizational skills are essential as well as attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills as well as strong customer orientation.
Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be required to be available for weekend and public holiday duties on a rotational basis and required to be available weekdays to work shifts from 8am to 6pm, on a rotational basis.
