Job Introduction:

G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading global integrated security solutions company has a vacancy for a Site Investigator in Hotazel, our Northern Cape Region.

Reporting to the Contract Manager and General Manager, the Site Investigator provides an investigation service to the customer within the site mining environment, in compliance with legislation, company policies and procedures.

The position requires at least 3-5 years investigative experience and language proficiency within a security and / or mining environment.  The successful incumbent is a self starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practice, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which investigation plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

It is imperative to have strong interpersonal skills with good leadership experience of at least 3 years to include sound competencies to manage professionally, deliver objectives, improve customer and employee relations, good conflict handling and successful employee engagement to understand and present a valued manner of communication within a service delivery environment.  The successful incumbent is an energetic self starter with a proven track record with various relevant training and development interventions.  A relevant tertiary certification to back cognitive and personality ability to deal with work complexities as well as a personal level of passion to fit in with corporate culture in taking the region forward.

It is imperative to demonstrate minimum certifications in computer proficiency, report writing skills and administration, fire-arm competency, first aid and fire fighting. The position requires a high proficiency in manner of communication skills, must be able to prioritise and handle variety and volume of work functions.



Role Responsibility:

Key Performance Areas

    Effective management of investigations in the mining environment in compliance with health and safety regulations, legislation and G4S policy.
    Develop an effective informer network in the mining community and region.
    Ensure effective liaison with SAPS structures in the region.

Formal Education:

    Relevant tertiary qualification or degree
    Valid Fire-Arm competency License in unit standards (i.e. handgun, rifle and shotgun)
    Grade 12 or equivalent
    PSIRA Grade B (Registered Security Service Provider)
    Valid Driver’s license & Own transport
    First Aid and Fire Fighting certifications
