Purpose of the role:
To create and optimise the networking and telecommunications system for Capitec Bank

Requirements:

    National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational)
    3 year tertiary qualification in a technological field (e.g. BSc, Engineering, Information Systems) OR a relevant IT qualification (e.g. CCNP, CCDA or CCDP)
    A relevant qualification in other networking disciplines (e.g. VoIP, Firewalls, etc.) would be advantageous
    A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in the networking environment
    Experience in network infrastructure design would be ideal
    The ideal candidate must have knowledge and understanding of:

 WAN technologies:
       Frame-Relay, MPLS, Satellite, ADSL, GPRS/3G, etc.
        TCP/IP protocol stack
        Routing protocols and Policy Based Routing
        Network redundancy and load balancing implementations
       
   Quality of Service
   Wireless LAN Standards and implementations
   Network Security pertaining to firewall, router and WLAN implementations
   VPN
   VLAN’s, Spanning-tree
   VoIP
    Network Performance Monitoring
    Detailed knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
   WAN optimisation
    Business Continuity Plan design
    Network Capacity Planning
    Research and documentation skills
    Analytical skills
    Problem solving and diagnostic skills
    Presentation and facilitation skills
    Ability to transfer skills and knowledge regarding new systems to support staff
    Communication skills (read, speak and write) in English
    Planning and organization skills
    Attention to detail
    Able to deal with pressure
    Ability to work in a team and independently
    Self-motivated
    Project management skills
    The incumbent will be required to work overtime from time-to-time.
    Own vehicle and a valid drivers’ license will be required.
    Willingness to travel.
