Job Title: Video Editor: IsiZulu News
Location: eNCA Department in Johannesburg
Reporting to the Senior Logistics Coordinator your key performance areas will include:
Digitising material to be used for news inserts
Record voice-overs
Do shot selection with reporter or producer
Editing news packages
Print to tape
Take direction from reporter or producer
Technical troubleshooting
Requirements:
At least 4 years’ experience as video editor using linear and non-linear editing equipment
Mother-tongue fluency in isiZulu and strong contextual interpretation of the language;
Good command of the English Language;
An interest in news and current affairs
Knowledge of technical broadcast specifications i.e. video, chrominance, luminance and audio levels
Knowledge of editing equipment
Final Cut Pro editing program and Apple Mac systems
Understanding of broadcasting environment
Ability to work with role players of each discipline of television production
Knowledge of shot descriptions and technical terminology
Knowledge of the principles of esthetical video editing i.e. Continuity, breathing, pace etc.
Ability to work in a digital environment
Be able to work in a live and pre-record environment
Self-drive and aptitude to be part of a virtual team
Be able to work under extreme pressure and make tight deadlines
