The University of Witwatersrand in conjunction with the Department of Health are awaiting applications for the following vacancies:

Dental Specialist Grade 1/2/3 (Orthodontics)
Wits Oral Health Centre, School of Oral Health Sciences
(Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Adjunct Professor)
R747 564 / R854 751 / R991 974 per annum all inclusive package, excluding Commuted overtime.  Appointment will be determined by OSD requirements.

The Wits Oral Health Centre in the School of Oral Health Sciences invites applications for appointment to the above post.

 Brief Description       
       
Qualifications and experience:

Minimum requirements include appropriate qualifications that allow registration with the HPCSA as Dental Specialist in the respective Specialty degree.  A proven track record of teaching and the development of under- and postgraduate curricula complemented with research track record including publications in recognized journals.

Duties

Responsibilities will include teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels to include didactics as well as supervision of patients being managed by the students, the development of curricula, teaching objectives and assessment of student performance.  The management of orthodontic patients includes interdisciplinary collaboration with other specialities.  Depending on the level of appointment, develop and conduct independent research projects as well as work with postgraduate students.

The level of the university appointment will be determined on an individual basis applicable to University criteria.
