JOB TITLE: DEPUTY DIRECTOR: EDUCATION LABOUR RELATIONS SUPPORT

REQUIREMENTS:
●An appropriate Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree/National diploma in Labour Relations
●A four-year Bachelor’s degree in Law will serve as an advantage
●A valid driver’s licence
●Willingness to travel frequently
●Five (5) years working experience in Labour Relations in the Education sector, including experience in conducting investigations
●Participation or experience in collective bargaining in the Education Labour Relations Council (ELRC) and/or the Public Service Co-ordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC)
●Knowledge of labour laws, regulations and procedures
●Knowledge of the Employment of Educators Act, 1998 (Act 76 of 1998), the Public Service Act, 1994 (Act 103 of 1994) (PSA) and the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act1 of 1999) (PFMA)
●Knowledge of techniques used in investigations
●Knowledge of Public Service Rules and Regulations
●Ability to analyse reports
●Ability to interpret laws, rules, regulations and collective agreements
●Ability to maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, colleagues and the Public
●Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

DUTIES:
●Provide responsive and high quality support and advice to stakeholders, educators and the public on all labour related complaints received by the Department
●Schedule or co-ordinate meetings for the Directorate
●Monitor the implementation of policies concerning working conditions of educators to ensure compliance
●Prepare and submit required reports related to labour relations matters
●Maintain records, prepare reports and compose correspondence related to work
●Prepare and submit required reports related to labour relations matters
●Perform related tasks as assigne
