Job Title: Senior Web Developer

Main Purpose:

To assist the digital manager in the building and maintenance of the firm’s websites, and general web/online maintenance duties. This position will report directly to the digital manager.

The candidate should have good communication skills, making creative and innovative recommendations, self sufficient and proactive enough to manage projects and work according to brand/ policy requirements.

 The individual must be proactive, an independent worker, a forward-thinker and a have a passion for the digital environment.

Responsibilities/Output:

Maintenance/ updates of the firms various websites

Managing and monitoring development workflow database

Assist in development of various web-based applications

Assisting with daily duties in a development environment

Assist with management of day-to-day updates

Database programming, script programming and querying

Ongoing support and upgrades to existing websites and web applications

Maintenance and adherence to development standards and firms baseline security requirements

Demonstrated experience in designing, developing or managing user interface development standards for web applications

Requirements
Qualification Level: IT related Degree / Diploma    
Additional Qualification Level: n/a
Experience Required: 3 - 4 years

Competencies / Skills:

3 - 4 Years relevant experience

Proficient in PHP4/5, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, Web Standards and good knowledge of popular frameworks

Proficient with Drupal and CodeIgniter

Knowledge of Joomla , WordPress and Magento advantageous

Proficient with DNS, email delivery and web services - SOAP/XML/WSDL

Able to multi-task and be flexible

Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients (English)

Deliver high quality work

Identifies, promotes and adheres to company brand and best or common practices

Ability to work in a team and build relationships

Ability to listen, understand and respond effectively

Ability to work after hours on a regular basis to affect changes or resolve incidents
