Requirements:

An appropriate tertiary qualification in Law
·
Admission as an Attorney or Advocate
·
Proven knowledge of and experience in
Constitutional Law, Administrative and Procedural Law, Law of Contract, Civil
and Criminal Procedures, Public Sector Legislation and Legislative Processes
·
Demonstrable understanding of Public service
legislation, its application and policy development in the Public Sector
·
A minimum of 5 years Post Admission experience
in Legal Practice
·
Proven experience in leadership or managerial
position
·
Appropriate experience in project management
·
Financial management skills
·
Excellent communication skills
·
Problem solving and conflict resolution skills
·
Negotiation and interpersonal skills
·
Proven managerial record
·
Valid driver’s license
Duties:
·
Provide sound legal advisory services to the
OPSC
·
Rendering formal or informal legal opinions
·
The formulation and drafting of complex, high
level formal legal opinions and complex contract of commercial nature
·
Drafting and managing contracts
·
Ensuring legislative compliance
·
Liaising with the State Attorney’s Office and
the Office of the Chief State Law Advisor
