Requirements:
·
An appropriate post-graduate degree in finance
(financial management, financial accounting) or related discipline with at
least three to five years experience, preferably in a commercial environment
·
CA(SA), CFA or CIMA would be advantageous
·
An understanding of reporting requirements, such
as IFRS
·
An understanding of the public finance
management act, 1999 (act 1 of 1999) (PFMA), the companies acts, 1973 (act 61
of 1973) and king III report
·
Experience in due diligence reviews, financial
analysis, financial reporting, project management and budget management
·
The ability to work well under pressure and
deliver timeously
·
Problem-solving, negotiating, research, planning
and co-ordination skills
·
Experience in and exposure to the freight, ports
and pipelines sectors would be an added advantage
·
Self-motivation

Solid verbal and written communication skills

Duties:
·
Monitor the historical performance of the state owned
companies (SOC’s)
·
Evaluate the corporate plans of the state owned
entities (SOE) including the investment strategies of the SOC
·
Determine the various financial and operational
targets for the SOC for alignment with government imperatives
·
Advise on the adequacy of capital requirements
of the SOC’s and the appropriate capital structure
·
Monitor SOC borrowing and guarantees
·
Perform financial modeling exercises, related
scenarios and sensitivity analysis
·
Review the tariff submissions of the SOC to the
various regulatory bodies
·
Advise on the impact of changes regarding
reporting requirements and related standards
·
Provide support to the sector unit on other
ad-hoc issues
