Responsibilities:
• Handling of Employee Wellness programmes
• Handling of Employee Assistance programme
• Attending to HIV and AIDS issues
• Resource management
• Handling of policies and governance
Minimum requirements:
• A recognised four-year tertiary qualification in Social Sciences (HR/Social Work/Psychology)
• Registration with the South African Council of Social Services Professions (SACSSP), or with Professional Board for Psychology of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
• Approximately five years’ relevant experience, as well as five years’ internet-based research
• Knowledge of a broad, integrated wellness approach (Wellness, EAP, HIV, OHS/SHEQ, Ill-health management, PHC) and legislation and regulatory framework pertaining to EH&W
• Computer literacy and financial management skills
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Sensitivity to a multicultural and diverse work environment
• Good conflict-resolution and mediation, as well as problem-solving and persuasion skills
• Good management and strategic planning skills
• Good communication, presentation and report-writing skills
• Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU
• The ability to function under pressure
• Good negotiation skills
• A valid driver’s licence
• A wellness advocacy orientation
Recommendation:
• A postgraduate degree will be an added advantage
Total remuneration package: R384 572 – R512 686 per annum (employer contributions in respect of benefits included)
