Responsibilities:
• Personal assistant for director
• Financial administration
• Administrative duties
• Record keeping of research activities
• Organization of meetings and workshops
Minimum requirements:
• Grade 12 and an appropriate post-school qualification
• Approximately three years’ appropriate experience in the general administrative processes of the NWU, including up-to-date and meticulous record-keeping, filing and maintenance of files
• A good understanding of how the postgraduate administration process operates
• The knowledge and ability to make international hotel and flight bookings on the internet
• Excellent computer literacy, and knowledge and experience of MS Office, Groupwise, the NWU intranet and internet, the use of social media, Microsoft-CRM, Dropbox, eFundi, Oracle and IDU systems
• Work experience in a research environment
• Experience in a financial environment, including reporting and analysing statements
• Knowledge of and experience in the creating of requisitions, and the ordering and management of material and equipment from suppliers
• Proven skills and the ability to help to collect, organise and submit data
• The ability to function independently, with self-motivation and under pressure, solve problems, function ethically, systematically and accurately, take initiative and act decisively
• The ability to build and maintain good interpersonal relations
• The ability to function effectively as part of a team, but also work independently
• Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the various functionally multilingual environments of the NWU
TOTAL REMUNERATION PACKAGE: R140 708 – R187 649 per annum (employer contribution in respect of fringe benefits included)
COMMENCEMENT OF DUTIES: As soon as possible
