Junior Statistical Analyst

The role

To analyse business challenges and requirements through the application of various statistical analysis techniques.
The requirements

    National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) with 4 years relevant experience within analytics

OR

    Relevant 3 year degree with a major in Mathematics / Statistics (i.e. B.Comm (Statistics), B. Informatics)
    Relevant post-graduate degree with a major in Mathematics / Statistics (i.e. BSc Honours (Statistics) would be advantageous
    Experience required within a retail credit risk management environment would be advantageous.
    Knowledge of:
        Knowledge of analytics
        Technical understanding and knowledge (different operating systems / databases / programming languages)
    Knowledge of the retail credit environment / industry would be advantageous
    Knowledge of table and database structures would be preferred
    General business acumen
    Communication skills (verbal and written) in English
    Numerical skills
    Analytical skills
    Computer literacy (Intermediate MS Excel / Access)
    Attention to detail (accuracy)
    A degree of programming skill
    Ideal: SAS, SQL, Qlikview, Cognos
    Structured thinking and approach (process orientation)
    Able to perform under pressure and work towards strict deadlines
    Adaptable to change
    Proactive
    Client service orientation
    Willing and able to work extra hours, outside normal business hours as and when required
    A clear credit history and a clean criminal record are prerequisites
    Clear criminal and credit record
