Requirements:
• An appropriate 3 year Bachelors degree/diploma or equivalent qualification in Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences/Management.
• General administrative, organizational and diplomacy skills as well as knowledge of project management and scientific principles that govern the conservation of the ecosystems and habitats.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to develop interpret and apply policies.
• Knowledge and skills in formulating and writing reports.
• Ability to work under pressure and represent the unit at meetings.
• Willingness to travel.
• Computer literacy.
• A valid code 8 or B driver’s licence.
Duties:
• Ensure effective conservation management through development and implementation of conservation framework for TFCA’s in order to complement the TFCA 2010 strategy.
• Oversee development and implementation of conservation and development plans and projects for each TFCA.
• Promote heritage conservation and community participation through integration of relevant aspects into biodiversity conservation plans.
• Facilitate the establishment of community conservation areas within TFCAs.
• Strengthen creation of ecological networks, wildlife corridors and migratory routes.
• Support management of animal disease control matters. Assist in development and implementation of the SADC translocation policy.
• Promote cross-border research, technology transfer and law enforcement. Support harmonization of biodiversity conservation and tourism.
