The Tourism Management Department at the Nelspruit Campus has a Part Time (12-months) position for a WIL Coordinator

Critical Performance Areas
•    Liaising with prospective tourism employers in seeking to secure new placement opportunities both locally, nationally and internationally;
•    Monitoring the suitability of existing tourism placement opportunities to ensure compliance with legal requirements in addition to ensuring providing valuable learning opportunities;
•    Developing and maintaining a database of tourism WIL employers;
•    Facilitating the placement of tourism students with employers;
•    Ensuring that WIL employers are aware of their responsibilities to the student and of the student’s and the University’s responsibilities to them;
•    Delivering workshops / lectures to prepare students for their placements such as CV writing, interview skills, work ethics, customer care, etc.;
•    Monitoring and assessing the students’ progress whilst on placement through placement visits / tele-communication; this includes the marking of workplace assignments;
•    Keeping up-to date with current legislation, policy documents and good practice relating to WIL;

Minimum Requirements
Academic Qualifications
•    Honours Degree or B-Tech in Tourism or related qualification
Experience
•    At least one year teaching / lecturing in Tourism Management at a higher education institution and/or;
•    At least two years tourism industry experience at managerial / supervisory level
Other
•    Own transport essential.
