Job Title: Production Controller

Salary Scale code 300 (Position ID 60001158)

Main purpose of position:

Cost effective implementation of resources to ensure value for money on screen

Key Accountabilities:

    Determine, monitor and control local production budgets;
    Ensure cost effective local productions in terms of use of facilities and processes;
    Ensure adherence to SABC broadcast specifications;
    Ensure that the use of SABC facilities is maximised;
    Liaise, negotiate and assist role players in terms of specifications, techniques, facilities, timeframes and costs:
    Keep abreast of latest technology and production techniques to ensure effective production and use of available funds;
    Ensure transparency of production process by applying industry norms and keeping relevant parties informed;
    Ensure optimal balance between quality and cost containment;
    Control production expenditure as prescribed by the Finance Production Pack;
    Visit production offices and sets to ensure reconciliation between production processes and budgets;
    Maintain up-to-date information systems of SABC and external resources

Requirements:

    Matric;
    5 Years production experience;
    3 Years production budget management experience ;
    Computer Literacy
    Understanding of Television Technology
