The Department of Civil Engineering has a permanent position for Senior lecturer at the Pretoria Campus.

Critical Performance Areas

•    Presenting lectures and assessing in Civil Engineering subjects;
•    Participate in community service projects;
•    Responsible for administrative tasks related to teaching and learning;
•    Responsible for academic research and technological excellence;
•    Industry liaison and involvement in the development of the new curriculum;
•    Involvement in the supervision of post graduate students and research.

1.    Minimum Requirements
•    PhD qualification in Civil Engineering with a Masters and Doctorate qualification in water/fluid mechanics.
•    The applicant MUST have his/her Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
•    ECSA registration or eligibility to register with ECSA is preferable;
•    Publication in refereed journals and conference papers.
•    Training skills that relate to the broad spectrum of duties and responsibilities that may contribute to improve the performance of the department will be beneficial.

2.    Minimum Experience:
•    5 years relevant teaching experience at University level or five years relevant industrial experience.
•    Experience with regards to management of academic matters, quality of program, student affairs, human resources, facilities and research projects;
•    Supervisory experience in industry and/or academic fields;
•    Experience of research and monitoring of post graduate students is recommended

3.    Registration with professional body (if applicable):
•    Registration with ECSA or Eligibility to register with ECSA is preferable..
