Job Title: SADPA Legal Officer

The Department of International Relations and Co operations.

Salary: R771 306 per annum. This all-inlusive remuneration package consists of a basic salary, the State's contribution to the Government Employees Pension Fund and a flexible portion that may be structured in terms of the applicable rules.
  The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract.

Requirements: An LLB degree. At least ten(10) years experience in legal advisory capacity, of which at least five(5) years should be experience in a commercial environment. Experience in project development and management is required. Admission as an Attorney ia required.

 Competencies: Extensive Knowledge of all fields of law especially law of contract, commercial and investment law. Legal research capabilities .
Leadership and managerial skills. Computer literacy. Good Interpersonal relations. Financial management skills.

Duties: Act as the Legal adviser to the head: SADPA and the agency on all aspects of the Agencies work and on all SA's outgoing development cooperation initiatives . Render Legal advice regarding problems of interpretation, Legal liability, exercising of powers and all other legal matters relating to SADPA. Draft and scrutinize legal documents such as contracts, service level agreements , letters, memorandum,tender documents, guarantees etc. Develop the Agency's legal framework guidelines and ensure proper alignment with the African Renaissance and International Cooperation Fund (ARF) Act, the SADPA policy guidelines and SADPA Operational frameworks,system and tools for outgoing partnerships.
Facilitate and manage the legal aspects of all SADPA partnerships with other relevant agencies and institutions in support of Agency objectives.
Facilitate the Secretariat support to the ARF Advisory Committee in the
interim> Support the SADPA Quality Assurance Process.
