Job Title: Copy Writer (1 Year Contract)

Programming and Planning Division in Cape Town

Reporting to the HOD: Programming and Planning your key performance areas will include:

    Write synopses and programme information copy for:  Electronic Programme Guides, Web listing guides and any other platforms that may be required
    Conduct research on scheduled programming
    Checking of all copy to be released to external sources
    Liaise with internal, international and local distributors for any outstanding information, such as running orders, synopses, episode titles, year of release and cast
    Ensure that all programme information and copy is consistent across series, movies and channels
    Communicate all changes to relevant departments within the timeframe required
    Have the knowledge to download and compile the EPG reports in the appropriate formats for all channels
    Liaise with EPG Providers on every programme change affecting the EPG across channels, when required to do so.
    Work closely with Programme Coordinators and Schedulers in the Programme Scheduling Department
    Play a supportive role to the International Acquisitions department
    Perform ad-hoc duties for the Programme Scheduling Manager

Requirements:

    A degree in English, or a post-graduate qualification from an accredited school
    At least 2 years copy writing experience ideally in a media \ marketing environment.
    Need to be able to understand and write in at least one additional African language
    A free thinker with a meticulous eye for detail
    Have good written and interpersonal skills
    A team player
    Ability to meet tight deadlines
    Computer Literacy
    Must be able to work independently
    A passion for broadcasting

Note:

    This is a contract position only
    Training in the company Broadcast Management System will be provided
    The applicants must be from Cape Town and surrounding areas
