Interbank Officer Job at South African Post Office in Pretoria

Job Title: INTERBANK OFFICER (C2):
X2 Positions; Corporate (Head Office)
Reports to:
Manager: Payments and Interbank–Business Integration

Summation:
Responsible for assisting and providing support to the industry integration section with the execution of the Interbank Officer role, by:
Support the facilitation and co-ordination between Operations, IT/ Technical and Payments and Interbank
Sourcing info regarding payments developments in the market to ensuring that Postbank’s is aware of the developments
Support the facilitation and co-ordination between
Operations and Payments and Inter Bank developments
Support the facilitation and co-ordination between Operations and Payments and Inter Sourcing info regarding payments developments in the market

Key Responsibilities:

External
•Preparation for industry meetings by reviewing the minutes and formulating views on agenda items,
(including building relationship with various inter bank participants and the regulators)
•Facilitate operations industry / interbank requests i.e. receive industry requests and sending to relevant parties internally and following up with internal parties and responding to industry request within the agreed timelines
•Provide the necessary and required support to the line manager with regards to the industry

Internal
•Assist with the process, that stakeholders are kept abreast with in dustry developments (new business, new payments mechanisms, new legislation, developments from the Standard Bank, VISA and Bank serve Africa relationship)
•Review, identify payments aspects in documents and draft the necessary responses
•Provide information for stakeholder meetings General
•Assist with the implementation and execution of the overall payments strategy
•Assist with distribution of PASA documents to various stakeholders
•Read and research domestic and international payments trends and keep abreast of developments affecting payments

Minimum Requirements,

Knowledge, Skills, Attributes & Other requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Relevant 3 year Diploma (NQF 5) or Degree (NQF6)majoring in IT or Economics or Business Management
At least 1 year experience in the financial environment,
An understanding of the banking operations and
IT/technical systems is essential

Knowledge banking products is an added advantage

•Mainly office bound, may be required to travel domestically
