Job Title: Quality, Safety & Environmental Management Systems Manager- Nashua Limited

A vacancy exists at Nashua Limited for a Quality, Safety and Environmental Management System Manager reporting to the Nashua Limited Managing Director.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:



To design, implement and enforce quality assurance and quality control policies and systems throughout the Company.  The QMS Manager will conduct internal quality audits across the organization.  Serve as document control custodian and expert on all Company policies and procedures on ISO.  Look at continuous improvement on process in terms of ISO.  To ensure that the product or service Nashua Limited provides is fit for purpose, consistent and meets both external and internal requirements.  This includes legal compliance and customer expectations where necessary. To provide Health & Safety standards across the Company.



KNOWLEDGE



    Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance and environmental control.
    Knowledge of the applicable legislation and regulations related to ISO certification.
    Knowledge and understanding of Health Safety and Environment.
    Knowledge of the applicable legislation and regulations related to Health Safety and Environment.
    Knowledge and understanding of the Company Policies, Processes and Procedures.



DUTIES: SOME OF WHICH MAY INCLUDE:



TO MANAGE, UPDATE AND MAINTAIN THE ISO 9001-2008 & ISO 14001-2004 SYSTEM AT NASHUA LIMITED.



    Maintain Nashua Ltd QSE System in accordance to the latest ISO international requirements.
    Take the necessary steps to modify existing systems to take advantage of latest technologies.
    Inform Management of changes in requirements.
    Implement new requirements.
        Setting standards for quality as well as health and safety.
        Providing direction and guidance on matters relating to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Assurance (SHEQ) Management both within the company and at sub-contractor level.
        Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures.
        Designing and maintain a programme of continuous improvement with the operating facilities to ensure that established systems meet best practice requirements.
        Establish formal and solid relations with SABS.







MANAGE ISO CERTIFICATION PROCESS



    Ensure certification processes and external audits are facilitated within Nashua Limited and its Franchises.
    All Directors are kept informed of audits.
    Implement tracking process to review results both during and after each audit.
    Ensure national corrective action plan drafted based on Nashua Limited input with recommendations with regard to corrective action follow-up strategies made.



TO ASSIST NASHUA FRANCHISES TO ATTAIN AN ISO 9001-2008 & ISO 14001-2004 CERTIFICATION.



    Do presentations on QSE implementation programs and on-line system.
    Develop services to facilitate ISO certification of Franchises wanting to implement a QSE System.
    Liaison and negotiate with SABS to facilitate certification and obtain better status.



DEVELOP AND MANAGE A TOTAL QSE MANAGEMENT CULTURE AT NASHUA LIMITED AND ALL ITS FRANCHISES.



    Chair QSE management meetings.
    Follow up on resolutions taken at the QSE meetings.
    Report to Management external and internal audit results.
    Assist Franchises with internal QSE audits.



TO IDENTIFY, INVESTIGATE, FOLLOW-UP AND RESOLVE PRODUCT OR SERVICE PROBLEMS RELATED TO QSE AT NASHUA LIMITED OR ANY OF ITS FRANCHISES.



    Prepare statistics and trends to identify problem areas.
    Investigate and resolve customer’s problems.
    Investigate and resolve interdepartmental quality problems.



QSE TRAINING



    Implement adequate QSE training for all new employees in Nashua Limited, Nashua Kopano and Quince Capital and all Franchises when requested.
    Identify QSE training needs.
    Implement QSE training to satisfy needs.



SET AND MANAGE SHE FOR G4S NATIONALLY



    Act as the company’s appointed Health and Safety Expert.
    Ensure the continued implementation of Nashua Limited’s Health and Safety strategy.
    Review and update the Risk Assessment monthly and submit to the Board.
    Design, develop and review national SHE policies, standards and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
    Design, develop and review SHE Management system for Nashua Limited, Nashua Kopano and Quince Capital.
    Design, develop and review and track progress of SHE action plans.
    Design, develop and maintain a national SHE audit programme to ensure standards are maintained.
    Generate and present reports for SHEQ meetings.
    Maintain records of all company fatalities.
    Maintain the Health and Safety file.
    Ensure all SHE registrations, permits and licenses applied for and up-to-date.
    Design, develop and maintain appropriate emergency plans.



REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

    A diploma or degree (or higher) in Quality Management systems, will be an added advantage.
    5 to 10 years’ experience in quality assurance, with direct involvement in implementing, auditing and continuously improving ISO management systems and operational/technical experience gained over a broad front.
    Developing policy and operational standards.
    Excellent project management skills.
    Excellent MS Office.
    Good business acumen.
    Excellent change management and process optimisation skills.
    Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
    Ability to solve problems and good analytical skills.
    Ability to lead, inspire, challenge and manage a team.
    Conducting Quality, Health, Safety and Environment audits.
