Introduction:    
A vacancy exists for the above mentioned post at Life Wilgers Hospital. Reporting to the Services Manager. The Maintenance Officer will be responsible for coordinating and performing maintenance operations required for the effective functioning of the hospital, including electrical and electronic installations, air conditioning and refrigeration, plumbing, general maintenance of the grounds and surrounds as well as structural improvements.

Critical Outputs:    
Plan, manage and supervise maintenance operations for the exterior and interior facility.
Ensure compliance with all provisions of the OHS Act and any other relevant legislation, including ensuring compliance with the requirements in terms of ISO accreditation. Manage contractors and ensure that goods and services are provided in accordance with requirements.
General building, plumbing and carpentry.
General air conditioning systems.
General light industrial fitting and medical gas systems.
General light industrial fitting.
General electrical maintenance on single and 3 phase installations.
Television, CCTV and alarm systems.
Identify, estimate and order material correctly.

Requirements:    
The applicant must be in possession of a N3 Certificate and a Trade Test for either Mechanical Engineering or Heavy Current Electrical Engineering,
Be registered with the Department of Manpower and should have at least 5 years artisan experience.
They should also be familiar with all aspects of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
