JOB TITLE: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER
Head Office (Gatesville)
Salary R 222 038 per annum – Level 7
Key Performance Areas:
Facilitate organizational compliance with the provisions current OHS Legislation
Facilitate implementation and maintenance of the OHS Management Control System and verification of the expected outcomes
Facilitate the Continuous Risk Assessment Process
Facilitate OHS Capacity Building
Attend quarterly OHS Area Committee Meetings to identify key risks to be escalated for executive intervention
Co-ordinate and attend quarterly OHS Corporate Committee meetings and provide a minute record of proceedings for distribution to committee members
Facilitate Incident Management across the Areas within the portfolio (recording, reporting, investigation, development and implementation of risk control strategies)
Facilitate and assist with periodic internal and external OHS inspections and Audits and implementation of recommendations to close out findings
Assist in the development of OHS Policies and OHS Organizational Standards;
Requirements:
National Diploma in Safety Management
Accredited HIRA training
Safety Management Training Course Certificate (SAMTRAC)
Knowledge of OHS techniques and administrative procedures
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in administration of occupational health and safety within the workplace
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Bilingual in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
A valid code EB Driver’s License with willingness to travel across the Areas with the portfolio to service all Areas within the portfolio
Proficiency in MS Office packages and Excel
Some conservation background would be an advantage
