Over view
The Faculty of Economics and Finance has a permanent
position for Senior/Lecturer: Economics at the Ga-Rankuwa Campus.
Minimum requirements:
• Masters
or Doctorate degree in Economics or relevant qualification
• At least
5 years teaching, research and/or industrial experience in economics at a
tertiary level will be required.
• Experience
in research and mentoring of postgraduate students will be a strong
recommendation.
• Excellent
written and oral communication, presentation and computer skills as well as the
ability to work with students, conduct workshops, seminars, etc. are required.
• Quantitative
skills (e.g. statistics for economists or mathematics for economists).
• Knowledge
of econometric and statistical packages e.g. E-VIEWS, STATA or SPSS.
• Registration
with a professional body a recommendation.
Core Functions
• Presenting
lectures and assessing students in economics subjects
• Responsible
for administrative tasks related to teaching and learning.
• Actively
participate in research and community service projects
• Industry
liason and involvement in the development of a new curriculum.
• Supervision
of postgraduate students
• Present evening
classes and/or Saturday classes as part of the normal workload if the need
arises.
